very first date…pt 2

That first kiss was like nothing I’d ever experienced. It was the only time in my life I can say that time stopped, and the world was just spinning around me. That is until I noticed a group of people who were staring strangely at us from the corner; we both chuckled a little and decided maybe our time in the bookstore had come to a close.

We were still killing time before our movie, so we decided to take a walk. We were down by the river so we decided to take a walk across the bridge. It was my very first time walking the bridge; it had its own local version of the “Love Lock” bridge in Paris. It was evening, but it was still fairly warm as we strolled slowly across the bridge talking about everything under the sun.

The other side of the bridge had cascading steps that spanned the river’s edge; a perfect place to sit and listen to the water and watch the lights from all the activities on the levee bounce across the surface of the river. We sat down beside each other, hands clasped together, and just sat silently for a little while. I felt like I had never been without Landon, everything seemed so easy and effortless. I loved holding his hand.

Some heavy clouds rolled in above us and it started to rain so we headed for shelter in the passageway under the bridge (talk about romantic). With rain coming down around us, we ended up on the stairs standing snuggled in a corner while we waited for a good opportunity to walk back across the bridge to our movie. Of course standing there in such a rainy and romantic situation, I had no choice but to kiss him again. He was up against the wall, and I was leaning up against him as we held each other under the bridge. Kissing him was unexplainable. The feelings I got were so intense; my heart was in my throat, pounding and my knees were weak. We stood there kissing for quite some time, never tiring of each other’s soft lips, slowly caressing the others. It was so perfect.

Eventually we managed to get back across the bridge and to our movie. We were the only ones in the theater and I can honestly say I have no idea what happened in the movie. We talked more, kissed more and just enjoyed each other; who needed a movie.

When I finally got him back to his car; it had ended up being the most perfect date I had ever had, and honestly I’ve never had one as magical since then. I had genuinely fallen in love with him that night.
